  • Allyson’s Story

We had been trying for our second child an entire year when it finally happened. The pregnancy tests confirmed that we were officially pregnant. We were ecstatic and even more overjoyed when we found out the baby was a boy. We have our daughter and was so excited to add some blue to our lives! Our world was forever changed on November 13, 2020. It was Friday the 13th of all days! I didn’t feel my little boy moving and wanted to get checked out. I was trying not to worry, but I had a gut feeling that something was wrong. My husband was actually just leaving for a camping…

  • Melinda’s Story

My son had a metabolic condition that causes him to be on a strict diet. We almost lost him when he was a couple weeks old.  It was a challenge with all the Dr appts, therapy, special foods, etc, however after the first 5 or 6 years , we felt like pros and did not think about losing him, which was a possibility of any illness or eating too much of the wrong food.  Anyway a few years ago we had his gtube removed, he was in high school doing well, then covid happened. We think him being at home disrupted his routine and caused him stress.  Anyway, on May…

  • How can I live?

Life is good in your 20’s. You’re sure you know it all. Your life is FINALLY starting, because you’re all grown up now. You’ve had a few bumps and bruises along the way, but you came out ok. You’ve figured out what you want to do with your life. The possibilities are endless! For me, I wanted to be a wife and mother. I knew that at an early age. I was always so good with kids, so patience with them. I loved to babysit in my tween/teen years. And let’s face it, you had to love it back then because it sure wasn’t for the money. I got a…

  • You mean I’m NOT Wonder Woman??

A few weeks ago, I had an epiphany. It was rather a strong one, the kind that hits you over the head with a 2×4. And these days…that’s an expensive blow! I AM NOT WONDER WOMAN!! I CAN’T DO IT ALL!! I was stunned! It was a crushing blow. My jaw dropped. I was speechless. You’re probably asking “what could have caused this realization?” A text. One simple text. It basically said…Hi all! I sent you an email with a few dates to choose from so we can schedule our next meeting. So, I click on my Yahoo app and open the email. There were 4 dates. I already had…

  • Crazy Criminals

I work in and around Memphis. Unfortunately, Memphis does not have the best crime statistics. We are always on those lists the media puts out about the most dangerous places to live. The city of Memphis ended the year 2020 with over 330 homicides and 80 interstate shootings. I know the MPD are trying their best. They are so overwhelmed. I’m not trying to scare you, just trying to help you understand the situation. I love Memphis, for the most part. I’ve lived here or near here since 1980, when my dad got one of the very first jobs at Federal Express when they were first starting up. There’s something…

  • Hello World!

I commute to work. It’s an hour there in the morning and an hour back home in the evening. I get up, take my ADD meds, stop for coffee, and then head out on the open road. On my drive to work in the mornings, I am a genius! I solve all the world’s problems. I figure out just what needs to be done to fix everything.  I see every side to every argument. I’m brilliant.  And then…the meds and caffeine kick in. That’s what happens with an ADD brain. It races. You think all the thoughts. All of them. All at once. By the time I arrive at my…
